Library Manager – Maiduguri Public Library
Location: Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria
Salary: ₦50,000 per month

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and organized
Library Manager to oversee the daily operations of our
public library in Maiduguri. The ideal candidate will be passionate
about reading, education, and community engagement. This role involves
managing library resources, supervising staff or volunteers,
coordinating community programs, and ensuring the library remains a
welcoming and efficient space for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day library operations, including opening and closing.

Organize and maintain books, digital resources, and other materials.
- Catalog new materials and update the library database.
- Assist visitors with book checkouts and information requests.
- Supervise and train library assistants or volunteers.
- Plan and host community literacy and reading programs.
- Ensure the library is safe, organized, and accessible.
- Prepare monthly activity and inventory reports.

Collaborate with schools and local organizations to promote library
use.
Requirements

OND, NCE, or Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required (Library
Science, Education, English preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience in a library or educational setting is an advantage.
- Must be resident in Maiduguri or willing to relocate.
Working Hours
Sunday – Thursday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Occasional weekends for programs)
